Rosewood enjoys the position of herd queen’s daughter and she often still eats with her mama. She has a level top line, good spring of rib and lots of width between the hocks.

“Ireland”

River Edge SM Bells of Ireland      1/15/2023

Sire: Lil Miss B Haven Smokin Mirrors *B  (TX Twin Creeks RM Watermark +B x SGCH Wood Bridge Farm Hocus Pocus 2*M)

Dam: Kickapoo Creek BTA Hannabelle 2*M  (Poppy Patch Black Tie Affair x Kickapoo Creek RK Clarabelle)

I really like this little goat. Ireland has the best personality. She’s a nice mix of both parents, so she talks but not too much, challanges the LGD but stops when I tell her to, and isn’t too crazy. She’s a joy to milk with softer skin than her dam had.

“Fig”

River Edge SM Figgy Pudding 3/10/23

Sire: Lil Miss B Haven Smokin Mirrors *B  (TX Twin Creeks RM Watermark +B x SGCH Wood Bridge Farm Hocus Pocus 2*M)
Dam: Kickapoo Creek CherryZ Jubilee  (Kickapoo Creek TB Zephyr Bay x Dill’s TS Strawberry Wine 1*M)

Fig is becoming more confident and affectionate. She had a single buck kid as a first freshener, has settled into the milking routine well, and I’m looking forward to her second freshening.

“Solstice”

Wolfivan Summer Solstice     3/13/23

Sire: Wolfivan Tahitian Monoi ((Wolfivan Jack of Diamonds x Castle Rock Tahitian Treasure)

Dam: Wolfivan Merry Begot (Wolfivan CQ Kentucky Bourbon *B x Wolfivan Rock Me Like a River 9*M)

I couldn’t pass up this pretty doe who just loves kisses. She’s related to our Lil Miss B Haven Smokin Mirrors daughters, our Castle Rock Cleveland Sage granddaughter, and our Algedi Farm Kinetic Riptide daughter on both sides. I love her name but unfortunately it wasn’t working well to have two does named “Summer” so we have to call her “Solstuce.” I do catch her coming when I call our original “Summer” and I always feel bad.

“Cascade”

Kickapoo Creek RR Cascadia     3/14/23

Sire: Hidden Hills Rockin Rebel*B (Wolfivan Raise A Ruckus x Hidden Hills Sugar Magnolia)

Dam: Kickapoo Creek RM Candice (Alethia V Rocket Man x Kickapoo Creek BTA Izabelle)

Izzy is Hanna’s full sister, with even better confornation, and I would collect a whole herd of  Hannas if I could, Cascadia won’t bring Hanna back, but she stands in her place while I clean the barn, and has the same amazing teats that make miking a dream.

“Calla”

River Edge HG Black Calla Lily     1/11/24

Sire: River Edge Heart of Gold (Old Washoe PS Grayson Ray x Castle Rock Cross My Heart 6*M)

Dam: Lil Miss B Haven GC Fern (Agape’s Prize Gold Centerfold x Lil Miss B Haven Fashionista 4*M)

Last year Fern had 3 boys but this year we repeated that cross and she provided us with the long leggy girl we were hoping for. Every time I look at Calla, I like her more and more.

“Delta”

River Edge PD Delta Belle     3/12/25

Sire: Lil Miss B Haven Pipe Dream *B (Agape’s Prize A Wee Bit Wicked *B x Lil Miss B haven GC Dreamgirl 2*M)

Dam: Kickapoo Creek BTA Hannabelle 2*M (Poppy Patch Black Tie Affair x Kickapoo Creek RK Clarabelle 1*M)

Oh she’s just like her dam! She was the strongest baby we’ve ever had. She could jump to the top edge of the Pack’N Play at only a few hours old. I am still so sad over losing Hanna right after Delta was delivered and the worst part is that Hanna never got to see her and that Delta will never know her mama and enjoy her rightful place in our herd. I’m sure Delta will settle down as she matures and I am so happy with how she is turning out.

Sire: Poppy Patch Black Tie Affair VEV89 (Poppy Patch RC Jiminy Cricket x Poppy Patch HB Lady in Red)

Dam: Kickapoo Creek RK Clarabelle 1*M +VEE87 (Lost Valley ML Remmington King x Miniprints TM Cricket)

We’re so happy to have Hanna back again, and this time to stay. She is affectionate and asks for kisses, and I can tell she was showered with attention at a previous home. She didn’t freshen for the first time until she was 3 years old but easily earned her milk star in only a few months. She has exceptional teats and I enjoy hand milking her. We tragically lost her at UC Davis from a ruptured uterine artery. So thankful she delivered her babies first and that we have a daughter to keep. I miss her so much.

We have been so thankful to be entrusted with this special goat. She is a Cleveland Sage daughter, and along with Acorn, a paternal sister to the ADGA National Champion, Castle Rock Tahitian Sunset. Cedar has always been the most cooperative, calmest, most loving goat we’ve had. Thankfully we have 2 of daughters, a son, and another son nearby. After her 4th pregnancy with quints, she is enjoying retirement.

Summer, as we call her, is here to stay. In 4 different homes in the first year of her life, she is meek around other goats and would rather not eat than risk getting shoved. She is an outstanding mama, and will adopt others’ babies. As a mature doe, she has very good general appearance and a very nice front end, plus incredible length of body. She has amazing body capacity as demonstrated by giving birth to 5 good-sized babies as a first freshener, without even looking pregnant! We’re pleased to see that her depth of barrel has increased with maturity. Her udder is buttery soft with nice sized teats and large orifices that make her our favorite goat to hand milk. After giving us only huge buck kids the past 3 years, we tried repeatedly for a successful pregnancy, but there was just too much damage from her retained placenta and subsequent metritis in 2023.

“Fern”

Lil Miss B Haven GC Fern  3/17/21

Sire: Agape’s Prize Gold Centerfold (GCH Wood Bridge Farm Undeniable ++B x CH Wood Bridge farm 22K Gold)

Dam: Lil Miss B Haven Fashionista 4*M (Wood Bridge Farm Bearnecessity +*B x GCH Lil Miss B Haven Francesca 3*M)

CA State Fair 2022 (NDGA)- 1st place dry yearling, Junior Grand Champion

This little one is quite spunky and thinks she’s hot stuff. She would rather be with people, but also pushes her way right in with the mature does. Her sire is the son of the 2021 ADGA National Grand Champion, and her maternal Great Grand-dam, CG Wood Bridge Farm Scarlet Rose, was the 2018 ADGA National Grand Champion. She is extremely correct in general appearance and has a very wide rump and escutcheon.

I admired her dam and I loved her paternal granddam, but never got the Zoey daughter I’d hoped for. Cherry is a lovely cross of both with pretty colors and a friendly personality.

Acorn was our first goat, bought as a backyard milker but ended up winning her young owner several belt buckles for Best in Show. She’s a Castle Rock Cleveland Sage daughter and we are thankful to her breeder for such a lovely addition to our family. She’s the biggest, the oldest, and has moved with us, so naturally she’s the herd queen. She stands at the barn door and sorts goats, deciding who may come in out of the rain and who stays out. She was a very loud baby and there were so many times I almost sold her because she wouldn’t stop yelling and the neighbors were complaining. Thankfully now the only time we hear her is when she’s bellowing at Cedar at the feeder or when she’s in heat. As a junior she was chubby but has become a mature doe with a long neck and slim legs and tremendous body capacity. She is so long that we actually had to build another milk stand for her. She has a capacious udder and peaked at 13 cups per day so we’re pleased to have her on milk test to make it official with a milk star in volume, butterfat and protein. And we’re happy to contribute to another +B for her sire.
